Waist Watcher Wednesdays - Week #8

Waist Watcher Wednesday

Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
Week 6
Week 7

Another crappy week. I have not fallen off the wagon though, Josh and I have just both been sick for 11 days now. I did manage to do Ab Rippers (from P90X) at home one day. I just can't seem to get better, I woke up today feeling worse than I have yet. It's so miserable being sick.

Stats:

Weight:  164  161.6  160.2  159.2  157.6  156.4
BMI:  24.7  23.9  23.7  23.5  23.3  23.1

Measurements:
Red - Up from last week
Gray  - Down from last week
Green - Stayed the same

Bust:  37"  36.5"  36"
Chest:  32"  31.25"
Waist:  31"  30.5"  30.75"  30"  28.75"
Stomach:  36.5"  35.75"  36"  35"
Hips:  39.5"  39"  39.5"  39.25"
Thighs:  25.5"  24.5"  24.25"  24.5"
Calf's:  16"  15.5"  15.75"  15"
Upper Arms:  11.75"  11.5"  11.75"  11.25"
Forearms:  9"  9.25"  9"  9.5"

I have striked this all out because I just don't feel this week will be accurate. I lost weight, but I'm pretty sure it's due to being sick. We shall see once I feel better.

But it is nice to see I'm down 1.2 lbs and 7.6 lbs total.

Haha, I loved this. I'm a Harry Potter geek and I'm honestly going to have to do this sometime. I'm sure I'd be extremely sore the next day.

Waist Watcher Wednesdays - Week #7

I am joining up with Rachael at You, Me, and Natalie for Waist Watcher Wednesdays.

Waist Watcher Wednesday

Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5
Week 6

So this past week wasn't really a great one. I worked out last Monday and I havne't been back to the gym since. I did bartend/waitress Friday and Saturday night and worked my tail off though so that helps, but the past few days I've been sick. I feel like crap!

I didn't track well this week either, I need to get back to doing that. I do weigh myself every morning though and watching the number drop is comforting, though I'm not sure if some of the weight loss I've seen is in part to being sick. We'll see in another week or so I guess.

Hopefully I'll start feeling better tomorrow, I absolutely hate being sick. How am I suppose to get anything done?!

Stats:

Weight:  164  161.6  160.2  159.2  157.6
BMI:  24.7  23.9  23.7  23.5  23.3

Down 1.6 lbs this week and 6.4 total. It's not going super fast, but it's steady and I'm pretty happy with that. When I get under 150 it's going to feel very good. I haven't been under 150 since I was a Sophmore in highschool.

Measurements:
Red - Up from last week
Green - Down from last week
Black - Stayed the same

Bust:  37"  36.5"  36"
Chest:  32"  31.25"
Waist:  31"  30.5"  30.75"  30" 28.75"
Stomach:  36.5"  35.75"  36"  35"
Hips:  39.5"  39"  39.5" 39.25
Thighs:  25.5"  24.5"  24.25"  24.5"
Calf's:  16"  15.5"  15.75"  15"
Upper Arms:  11.75"  11.5"  11.75"  11.25"
Forearms:  9"  9.25"  9"  9.5"

It feels so good to see the numbers dropping. I'm most excited about the waist. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I measured and remeasured. Guess I'm just in shock.

Waist Watcher Wednesday - Week #6

I am joing up with Rachael at You, Me, and Natalie for Waist Watcher Wednesdays.

Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4
Week 5

How did I do this past week?

Well like I said I had a good work out with Josh last Wednesday, I took Thursday off since I was really sore the next day. Then Friday and Saturday I bartended/waitressed so I didn't have time to get to gym after being in the office all day.

Sunday was the Superbowl and as expected I was so bad. We had pizza, breadsticks, and a good many drinks. Alcohol has so many calories! So I made sure to work it off the next day.

Monday was my 2nd free trainer day with Shawn. Ouch, ouch. ouch. It was brutal, I was sore pretty quickly, but I kept pushing myself through the pain. I lost my breath and I thought I was going to get sick, but I just kept pushing.

  • 5 minutes: Rotating Step Machine
  • 10 sets/15 reps: Lunges
  • 1 set/15 reps (each side): With foot on elevated bench use one leg to stand up on bench, without putting weight on the other foot; switch
  • 1 set/15 reps (each side) - 10 lb dumbells: Same as above
  • 1 set/15 reps (each side): With foot on elevated bench use one leg to stand up on bench, without putting weight on the other foot; switch
  • 3 set/15 reps - 30 lbs dumbell: Squats
  • 3 set/15 reps - 60 lbs: Machine where you sit and pull down from above
  • 3 set/20 reps: Back Extensions
  • 3 set/15 reps: 7.5 lb: Standing Dumbell Press
  • 3 set/15 reps: Ball Crunches
  • 3 set/10 reps - 30 lbs: Machine where you sit and press straight out from your shoulders out
  • 5 minutes: Rotate Step Machine
  • 3 minutes: Treadmill
Oww. I did tan after since I hadn't been in a few days and I defintiely fell asleep, haha. I was so tired! Luckily I didn't burn.

So yeah, not too bad.

So Rachael, in her WW post today, talked about music. It's funny because I was thinking about doing the same thing. I love music when I work out. I thrive off of it.

BMI:  24.7  23.9  23.7  23.5

Down 1 lb from last week and 4.8 lbs total. Yay! I love seeing the # continue to drop even though lbs aren't my main goal.

Measurements:
Red - up from last week
Green - down from last week
Black - stayed the same

Bust: 37"  36.5"  36"
Chest: 32"  31.25"
Waist: 31"  30.5"  30.75  30"
Stomach: 36.5"  35.75"  36"
Hips: 39.5"  39"  39.5"

Forearms: 9"  9.25"  9"  9.5"

Okay so numbers went up, but I'm pretty sure this is from muscle gain. The number I'm excited about is my waist. It just proves to myself that I'm heading in the right direction.

Waist Watcher Wednesday - Week #5

I am joining up with Rachael at You, Me, and Natalie for Waist Watcher Wednesdays.

Week 1
Week 2
Week 3
Week 4

How did I do this past week?

Well counting calorie wise..it was an "ok" week. Josh worked/had class 3/7 days this past week and I'm so terrible at feeding myself. I know that sounds bad, but that's what it is. I just want something quick and simple and if I'm home alone there is no one saying "Hey, I'm hungry..what are we eating." So I literally ignore my hunger until I can't stand it and then I find something, but usually it's not healthy. Bad, I know; I'm working on it though.

Gym wise? I'd like to think I'm heading in the right direction. After Monday and Tuesdays workout last week I was sore until well into Friday. Yeah, it was miserable. So I had no motivation to get to the gym.

Monday though, I headed to gym like a good girl, without Josh. Again, hard for me to get motivated, but I went. And I shocked myself to say the least. I took my Ipod and headphones and hopped on one of the elliptical machines. (Love that thing by the way!) and I did a 20 minute workout with a 5 minute "cool down". The reason I'm impressed with that? I used to have sports related asthma and let's just say my endurance has been down for quite some time. I noticed that with music I do a lot better, it helps me to not concentrate so much on being out of breath. So I did 25 minutes on there and then I got one of the balls down to do some crunches. Afterwards, I treated myself and tanned.

Today we went to the gym together. I was actually ready before Josh was. I think he can tell I'm getting more and more motivated. I'm really enjoying the "me" time. I used to LOVE class room environments for working out, but there is just something about doing it myself that is super gratifying. I don't see myself taking any classes anytime soon actually.

I did 25 minutes on the elliptical, crunches on the ball (80..20 more than Monday, because I didn't feel it as much the next day as I wanted to), and "back" crunches in the "Core" room. It feels so good! I then again treated myself and tanned.

So yeah. I think I'm headed in the right direction. I'm not dreading walking into the gym and working out and I'm getting there by myself. Yay, me!

Now since I didn't post "before" photos..I took these today. I have that dreaded "pouch" to get rid of and really that's my main goal. I'm content with the rest of my body..I just want my abs back that I had years ago in dance.

Stats:

Weight: 164 lbs.  161.6  160.2
BMI:  24.7   23.9   23.7

Down 1.4 lbs from last week and 3.8 lbs total. I'm definitely headed in the right direction. It feels so goo to actually see that number going down. I'll be more impressed with I have total of say 10 lbs lost, because I haven't seen my weight go under 155 lbs in over 6 years.

Measurements:
Red - up from last week
Green - down from last week

Bust: 37"  36.5"
Chest: 32"
Waist: 31"  30.5"  30.75"
Stomach: 36.5"  35.75"  36"
Hips: 39.5"  39"

Even though I'm not running right now, this still inspires me and it's very true. The hardest step for me is out my door to head to the gym on my own, but just like everything else..I'm working on it. =)

Waist Watcher Wednesday - Week #4

I am joining up with Rachael at You, Me, and Natalie for Waist Watcher Wednesdays.

Week 1
Week 2
Week 3

I am happy to report I've been on good behavior. My calories were under my intake goal everyday for the past week and I've managed to work out 3 days of the past 7.

I blogged about my Friday "workout" in which I taught dance all day and boy did that kick my butt. I didn't think I'd be able to make it to the gym for a long while because I was just so sore. So I forced myself to. Saturday, Josh and I went to the gym; him to work out and for me to tan. (Boy did that feel good on my sore muscles). I then signed up for my 1st of 3 free trainer sessions at the gym.

Monday at 4pm I walked into the gym for my session, legs still sore and began my consultation with my trainer, Shawn. Who by the way is really good at his job. Extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. I made sure to tell him about my extreme "workout" Friday and he made sure to concentrate on my arms, shoulders, back, abs, and chest instead of my legs.

I started out on the elliptical for 5 minutes, did some crunches on a ball, did some reverse crunches, planks, and a good bit of weight training. My arms by the end were shaking. It hurt and I pushed myself pretty hard.

I was planning all day yesterday to workout on the elliptical to give my arms a "break" because they were just so sore, but when I got home from the office I just couldn't motivate myself. Luckily my husband did. We ended up at the gym in the Cardio Cinema..which is phenomenal. They play a movie in a dark room on a projector screen with ellipticals, steppers, and bikes in it. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical.

Well let me tell you. I can barely bend or straighten my arms today, they are SO sore, but it's STILL a great feeling and I'm really proud of myself.

I'm taking tonight off, but I'll go back in tomorrow.

Stats:

Weight: 164 lbs  161.6 lbs
BMI: 24.7  24.2  23.9

Down 2.4 lbs I'm quite happy with myself. I think it's a huge part in just eating better. I'm only having pop when I have meal and just a small amount if I do. In between meals I'm drinking water like crazy. Which is way different than what I was doing a month ago.

Measurements:
Bust: 37"
Chest: 32"
Waist: 31"  30 1/2"
Stomach: 36 1/2"  35 3/4"
Hips: 39 1/2"
Thighs: 25 1/2"  24 1/2"
Calf's: 16"  15 1/2"

Pain is Weakness Leaving Your Body

Right?

Well than I'm pretty freaking weak.

Yesterday was the second day I've gone to teach at a local high school. If you remember or haven't seen the first post..it's here.

I was invited back to teach hip-hop this time around. A world different from lyrical jazz.

Thursday, I spent part of the day in my office, went to a meeting, mailed some things...pretty normal day. When I got home I got ready and headed to my favorite spot to choreograph (as of right now). When I got there I was expecting it to take me maybe 2 hours to finish the choreography, because I just was so nervous.

The song I ended up using was "Rock The Beat" - LMFAO. It's actually not much of a song, it's the 1st track on their album "Sorry for Party Rocking" and it's a prelude to the album titled song. It has a pretty awesome beat to it. You should look it up.

So I started off by doing some improv..the way I choreograph best and thought into what I wanted to create. In 40-45 minutes I was done. I impressed myself to be quite honest. It's a great feeling when this happens.

My obstacle from there was sleep. After a nice night in with Josh, trying to sleep was nearly impossible. I was ridiculously nervous. Why you ask? I've taught so many times before, I should be fine. Well I've taught hip hop before, but it was to the same group of girls for 3-4 years. They liked my style. I'm dealing with all new teens who know what they like and this is a genre they probably know most about, just from modern day society.

So I tossed and I turned and then my alarm went off. I got up and hubby got up with me. After I got ready to head out the door, he had coffee ready to take with me. Loved it! And off I went.

I stretched a bit ahead of time and when the first class came in. I introduced the song we would be doing and the fact that we would only use 8-counts for part of the song. One thing I've learned in taking dance, every teacher is different and you'll run into teacher who teach by 8-counts, sounds, and/or the music. I actually do a little of each, so I wanted them to really "listen" to the music and feel there way through it.

Everything went pretty dang well. My favorite was the reaction I got when I taught up to a certain point, we did it with music, and I continued on to the next step (which was my signature move and a HUGE step up in speed). I like to "add-on" before actually teaching it so they can see what's next and the speed of which it is done. I can't explain the sound reaction too well, but their eyes got wide and some of their mouths dropped. Haha! Such a great feeling!

We continued on and unlike I expected we just about finished the routine in all of the classes. I went to the water fountain in the locker room a few times after class and my ears were pretty delighted to what I heard. Majority loved the choreography and I also heard some "it was great - just taught too fast:". Aha! That's the point. They needed a challenge and I'm pretty sure I pushed them. Which again, is another great feeling.

Hopefully, I'll be back soon. I'll update you if I do. =)

Now back to the title of this post. I didn't think through the choreography with the fact that I would be doing it  over and over and over. In almost the very beginning we did a kick out, "dropped" to the floor with legs crossed, to turn completely around and jump up with feet spread apart. Uhmm..ouch. I did the movement/routine AT LEAST 25 times per class, if not more. There were 6 classes I taught in. That's the equivelant of 150 of those turns. Try it once and you'll understand my pain. By the very last one I did I could barely get my legs to unbend to "jump" up.

So I knew I was in pain from that. I was already hurting last night and after a big dinner..Josh and I made breakfast, yum! I slept for 2 1/2 hrs. I was exhausted! I woke up and could barely move. And after sleeping tossing all night, I hurt even worse. I can feel almost every muscle in my back, neck, and shoulders not to mention my legs, arms are killing me too. Talk about a work out!

Please tell me I made up  for not hitting the gym the past few weeks. I promise I'll be better if I don't have to deal with this amount of pain again. It actually hurts me to stand up straight, and bending down to get anything..yeah, that's not happening.

Waist Watcher "Wednesday" - Week #3

I am joining up with Rachael at You, Me, and Natalie for Wasit Watcher Wednesdays.

Okay so this past week was pretty bad, as far as calories and exercise go. Friday was my sister's 21st birthday, so we were in PA which means lots of eating out. Dang it! Then Monday was my going away party from the casino. So as you can imagine a lot of alcohol was consumed, in result so were a lot of calories. Boo!

The only exercising I did was dancing a bit on Friday, so I failed here to, but today starts a better routine since I'm gone from the casino.

Stats: They stayed the exact same again this week, which really really shocked me. Unsure about the weight still because I have yet to purchase a scale. This is changing today though. I'm swinging by Walmart on my way home from choreographing for the classes I have to teach tomorrow.

Edit:Weight: 167 lbs. (approximate)
Weight: 164 lbs. (actual)..finally went and got that scale
BMI: 24.7    24.2

Waist: 31"

Waist Watcher Wednesday - Week #2

I am joining up with Rachael at You, Me, and Natalie for Wasit Watcher Wednesdays. My first post was last week, you can see it HERE.

This week was a decent start for me. I've never counted calories before so I feel I was pretty successful. I managed to stay under my suggested intake daily every single day. I haven't cut out pop completely, but I've scaled back immensely.

As far as exercising goes, I haven't been able to really get into my routine yet, because I'm still working at the casino, but I did manage to go one day this week with my hubby. We went for 30 minute session in the Cardio Cinema at our gym. In case you've never heard of one, it has stationery bikes, ellipticals, and stepper ellipticals in a dark room with a large screen that shows a movie to keep your mind of the work.

I did 10 minutes on the elliptical stepper and 20 on the bike and managed to have a decent workout.

I need to get my 3 free trainer sessions schedule though so I know what else to do. I think I may do some classes too.

Stats:     They stayed the exact same this week. Unsure about the weight still because I have yet to purchase a scale. That's on my to-do list for the next week.

Weight: 167 lbs. (approximate)

BMI: 24.7

Waist Watcher Wednesdays

As I posted yesterday in my 2012 Resolutions, I am joining up with Rachael at You, Me, and Natalie for Wasit Watcher Wednesdays. I encourage you to join in and remember that..

"If you want something you'll make it happen, if you don't, then you never really did"

Also..

"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone"

I do not own a scale yet, but will get one soon hopefully.

If you look at my 2012 Resolution post you'll see everything I'm doing to work towards this goal. I know that I can do this, I just need to stay motivated!

I also downloaded a free app last night on my ipod called "My Fitness Pal". After inputting my height, weight, goal, approximate activity, estimated workouts, and my goal of 1 lb./week it computed my ideal Calorie intake. It's an awesome app so far and it allows you to track everything you eat. I'm not big into calorie counting usually because I can never seem to find the foods I've eaten, but this app has it all. I swear!

My Calorie intake should be around 1780 daily.
My ultimate goal is to reach 150 lbs, possibly more or less, it all depends what it takes for me to get my flat, toned stomach back. That's my real goal here.

Stats:

Weight: 167 lbs. (approximate)

BMI: 24.7

Measurements:
Bust: 37"
Chest: 32"
Waist: 31"
Hips: 36 1/2"
